Benefits of research
Often there is no direct or immediate benefit to you of participating in research aside from knowing that you have contributed to knowledge that may help individuals with SCI. However, you may learn if a certain drug, therapy or apparatus works well for you.
Specific benefits are shown in descriptions for individual studies. You can get more information or clarification, at any time, from the respective researcher or study coordinator.
For the SCI community
Alberta is a leader in translational SCI research. Studies in Edmonton and Calgary are making a difference in the lives of those with SCI. Participation by those who have complete or incomplete SCI is critical to maintaining the momentum in our research. Be part of it—let’s keep moving!
